As HSQE Officer Dry Bulk, you will be specifically responsible for our dry bulk goods department. As an HSQE Officer at GTS Ghent, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing our health and safety policy. GTS has several subsidiaries operating within different sectors (including petrochemicals, chemicals, logistics). As HSQE Officer Dry Bulk, you will be specifically responsible for our dry bulk goods department. You will also work closely with colleagues in the HSQE department to ensure that we comply with all legal requirements and maintain the highest health and safety standards.
You will work closely with the current HSQE team and manage the following responsibilities:
- Identifying and assessing workplace risks.
- Organising toolbox meetings around HSQE.
- Developing and implementing prevention programmes and measures.
- Providing advice to management and employees on safety issues.
- Coordinating training and awareness initiatives.
- Conducting incident investigations and preparing reports.
- Keeping track of laws and regulations and ensuring that the company complies with them.
- Administratively following up on tests, inspections and environmental obligations and preparing annual returns.
- You actively participate in the various management systems (ISO, FCA).
- Close communication and cooperation with HSQE colleagues.
Your profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Safety Science, Environmental and Sustainability Management).
- Knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You know how to work independently, proactively and result-oriented.
- You have strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience as a prevention advisor (level 1 or 2) or environmental coordinator is a plus. You have experience in carrying out risk analyses and drafting prevention plans.
