A story of growth
GTS was founded in 1985 and began its journey in the agricultural sector, with the development of a dry bulk terminal at the Middendok for the storage and handling of mineral fertilizers.
What started as a niche operation has grown into a versatile, independent terminal operator. As a family-owned company, we have stayed true to our core values: reliability, expertise, and long-term partnerships.
Today, GTS is a trusted name in the Port of Ghent, known for safe, flexible, and efficient handling of a wide range of bulk goods. Our history forms the solid foundation for our continued growth and innovation.
Strategic location
North Sea Port’s central location in Western Europe makes it a logistical hub for the distribution of various goods and provides access to international shipping routes on the Atlantic Ocean and the Baltic States.
North Sea Port is also part of the Rhine-Alps, North Sea- Mediterranean and North Sea-East Sea transport corridors. This allows goods to be delivered quickly and efficiently via rail, road and/or inland waterways to their final destination.
The locks in Terneuzen connect the Sea Canal to Ghent and the Westerschelde allowing access to sea going vessels of up to 265m length, 37m beam and a draft of 12,5 meters.
