 Ghent Renewables Operations

Ghent Renewables is a new site that, since 2022, has been responsible for the storage and processing of vegetable and animal oils and fats. Part of its activities is conducted as a joint venture with Cargill. Due to the growth of our organization, we are looking to strengthen the team with a motivated E&I Technician.

As a versatile electromechanical technician, you are responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of our production installations and infrastructure. In addition, you monitor utilities such as steam, compressed air, electricity, and water treatment.

You support production in all its aspects, from electrical work (high and low voltage) and pump technology to instrumentation, control systems, and PLC operations. Troubleshooting is an essential part of your daily tasks.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • You perform inspections and preventive maintenance on production installations and infrastructure, both electrical and mechanical.
  • You conduct initial analysis in case of breakdowns – both electrical and automation-related.
  • You work on and maintain various installations, such as weighing equipment, measuring instruments, drive technology, PLCs, visualization systems, and communication equipment.
  • You install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and recalibrate devices and instrumentation.
  • You supervise maintenance and repair work carried out by external parties.
  • You ensure that all necessary parts and materials are available on time for maintenance and daily operations.
  • You manage the purchase of materials according to the agreed organizational process.
  • You carry out your tasks with attention to cost control, safety, and quality.
  • You accurately record all completed work in the maintenance management system.
  • You follow company-specific instructions and actively contribute to reporting and resolving unsafe situations.

Your Profile:

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanics or have equivalent experience.
  • You have excellent mechanical and electrical knowledge and are familiar with the basic principles of AREI and ATEX.
  • You have knowledge of automation systems such as SCADA and/or DCS.
  • You are a team player and work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth production.
  • You are responsible, conscientious, and work independently, proactively, and results-oriented.
  • You have a hands-on mentality and a practical approach.
  • You hold a BA4/BA5 certificate or have completed an equivalent training.
