Qualifications and Core Competencies

  • Preferably an educational background in chemical/process engineering
  • Several years of experience in the field of production management in the petrochemical, food, chemical or plastics industry
  • Hands-on approach
  • Mechanical, electrical and chemical skills
  • Thorough understanding of complex technical/ organizational/ logistical contexts and ability to derive necessary actions
  • Excellent production planning and time management skills
  • Leadership and personnel management skills
  • Stress tolerance
  • Understanding of financial reports and business reporting
  • High level computer skills
  • Ability to support a culture of innovation and initiative
  • Good knowledge of English and French

Organizational relationships

  • Reports to: CEO
  • Responsible for: Factory personnel (Operators, Logistics, Maintenance)
  • External Contacts: Contractors, Suppliers, Customers


  • Ensures that all production goals for each shift are set and met
  • Ensures that maintenance is performed in accordance with the given specifications
  • Is responsible for planning materials and supplies to meet production requirements, as well as effective contractor liaisons
  • Must meet key performance indicators (KPIs) such as mass balance, yield, energy consumption
  • Efficient use of energy and resources
  • Zero occurrences of stopping production
  • Responsible for a high level of cleanliness

Quality and reporting

  • Responsible for recipe handling and administration
  • Delivery of finished products according to agreed standards
  • Implements quality policies and procedures
  • Contribute to improvement of the quality system
  • Oversees quality of operations and required documentation (e.g. shift change reports, shift book, analysis reports, damage and maintenance reports)
  • Oversees mass balance and energy balance (PCS)
  • Prepares regular reports on plant operations and presents them to senior management


  • Responsible for the management of all plant personnel and employee relations
  • Reports to this position are performed and documented
  • Chairs regular staff and personnel meetings to ensure that production and quality policies are followed in the same manner by all employees
  • Trains all plant personnel for operational work
  • Harmony among and retention of staff
  • Number and level of staff relationship problems
  • Maintains proper staffing levels within the plant
  • Staff awareness of production KPIs, including plans and strategies for their achievement
  • Planning, organizing and conducting staff training to achieve the above goals

Operational Improvement

  • Ensures that all operational procedures are up to date, relevant and implemented
  • Implementation of agreed incremental improvement programs
  • Recording and documentation of productivity improvements
