As an HSQE Officer, you will support these companies in developing and implementing their HSQE policies. You will become a member of the HSQE department and work closely with your colleagues to ensure that we comply with all legal requirements and maintain the highest standards of safety and health. As an HSQE Officer at GTS Ghent, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing our health and safety policy. We are passionate about delivering high-quality services and strive to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all our employees.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Identifying and assessing workplace risks.
  • Organizing toolbox meetings on HSQE topics.
  • Developing and implementing prevention programs and measures.
  • Advising management and employees on safety matters.
  • Coordinating training and awareness initiatives.
  • Conducting incident investigations and preparing reports.
  • Analyzing environmental and safety trends and making improvement recommendations.
  • Keeping up-to-date with laws and regulations and ensuring the company’s compliance.
  • Administratively tracking inspections, audits, and environmental obligations, and preparing annual reports.
  • Actively contributing to various management systems (ISO, FCA).
  • Maintaining close communication and collaboration with HSQE colleagues.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Safety Engineering, Environmental and Sustainability Management).
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding workplace health, safety, and the environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively, and results-oriented.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience as a prevention advisor (level 1 or 2) or environmental coordinator is a plus. Experience in conducting risk assessments and preparing prevention plans is also advantageous.
